From the failing MSM chronicles: MAGA racism trumps homeland security

Context: 1) As argued here many times, the MSM (mainstream media) has failed us. The teacher here at DP still gives it a grade of F. 2) MAGA elites are inherently racist, a point that the MSM refuses to assert plainly. 3) Some or all very powerful MAGA elites are racist.

Post: An NYT article reports (not paywalled) about a massive change in focus at the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and elsewhere. MAGA elites have ordered various federal agencies to significantly shift from their normal work aimed at stopping sex trafficking, criminal investigations, maritime safety duties, etc. to going after allegedly illegal immigrants. The change in focus from reasonable sane operations to deranged racist hate is driven by MAGA elite Stephen Miller.

As usual, the NYT does not report this massive change in focus from normal operations to a racist crusade in those terms. Instead, the NYT frames it in the deceptive terms that MAGA uses to describe what it is doing to the federal government and why it is doing it. 

Specifically, the NYT reports the administration's claim that it is targeting criminals, but simultaneously reporting that 60% of ICE detainees have no criminal conviction. The NYT documents government lies without calling it lies. That allows readers to treat lies and false justifications as legitimate policy rationales. By reporting reallocation of child exploitation investigators to immigration enforcement using neutral language about "mission prioritization" and "resource allocation," the NYT obscures the moral reality that the MAGA elites are consciously choosing to leave identified child sexual abuse victims unprotected to pursue mass deportations of non-criminals. 

This framing is factually accurate but deceptive in its totality. NYT's framing treats MAGA's racist policy by systematic lying as a normal administrative matter, not what it is. Readers who lack independent knowledge of Miller's background[1] or immigration enforcement data are unable to understand that they are witnessing not political disagreement but an intentional use of state power to nail targeted racial groups while sacrificing child protection, national security, financial fraud and other sane and useful federal functions.

Trump was right to call the NYT a source of "fake news" and a "failing" newspaper. Miller is a raging racist, making MAGA elite raging racists by association whether they deny it or not. The burden of proof of non-racism is on all MAGA elites, not us. 

Q1: Is this criticism of the NYT, Miller or MAGA elites too harsh, irrational or factually incorrect?

Q2: Is the NYT complicit in covering elite MAGA racism and therefore racist itself?

1. Evidence in the public record of Miller's callous racism: Miller wrote constantly to Breitbart News promoting white nationalist websites (VDARE, American Renaissance), championing The Camp of the Saints (a novel depicting nonwhite immigrants as civilization-destroying subhumans), praising the 1924 Immigration Act's race-based quotas. He showed a systematic inability to write neutrally about any nonwhite or foreign-born person. At Santa Monica High School, Miller ended his friendship with Jason Islas explicitly citing Islas's Latino heritage. He wrote public letters denigrating Latino students' academic performance, and reportedly harassed Spanish-speaking students, telling them to "go back to their home countries".
