Etiquette

DP Etiquette

First rule: Don't be a jackass. Most people are good.

Other rules: Do not attack or insult people you disagree with. Engage with facts, logic and beliefs. Out of respect for others, please provide some sources for the facts and truths you rely on if you are asked for that. If emotion is getting out of hand, get it back in hand. To limit dehumanizing people, don't call people or whole groups of people disrespectful names, e.g., stupid, dumb or liar. Insulting people is counterproductive to rational discussion. Insult makes people angry and defensive. All points of view are welcome, right, center, left and elsewhere. Just disagree, but don't be belligerent or reject inconvenient facts, truths or defensible reasoning.

Dissident Politics: Blog note

Pxy bias update
Lately my AI Pxy has been too biased in its responses to my usual politics-related queries & hypotheses. I had hoped that some permanent anti-bias instructions would do the trick. Maybe they did for a while, but seemingly not so much lately. So I asked Pxy what is to be done about this deplorable situation. (Egad! Shades of Hillary!!)

In response I got this short instruction that might help. But now I'm back to pasting an anti-bias instruction with my queries. Help yourself to this instruction with your AI  searching endeavors. Maybe this will help some. Pxy says there is recent research indicating than instruction like this helps reduce bias.

Q: Is there a short but at lest detectably effective instruction I can routinely include with my queries to tamp down biases, especially sycophancy and status quo biases?

A: Evaluate my questions and premises as questions, not positions to affirm. Follow the evidence—not my apparent preferences, official narratives, or the status quo. Use consistent evidentiary standards; avoid false balance and reflexive contrarianism. Distinguish established facts, reasonable inferences, and genuine unknowns. Keep uncertainty specific; don’t let it erase a supported conclusion.
Lately, Pxy had been doing too much erasing, sucking up, and status quo-ing. Maybe this will noticeably help.
