Etiquette

DP Etiquette

First rule: Don't be a jackass.

Other rules: Do not attack or insult people you disagree with. Engage with facts, logic and beliefs. Out of respect for others, please provide some sources for the facts and truths you rely on if you are asked for that. If emotion is getting out of hand, get it back in hand. To limit dehumanizing people, don't call people or whole groups of people disrespectful names, e.g., stupid, dumb or liar. Insulting people is counterproductive to rational discussion. Insult makes people angry and defensive. All points of view are welcome, right, center, left and elsewhere. Just disagree, but don't be belligerent or reject inconvenient facts, truths or defensible reasoning.

Let’s spitball here (science minded types only need apply) 😉

Thinking about two phenomena today: Chemistry and the Laws of Physics.

  • I’m wondering, what “trumps” (as in, surpasses, beats, is better than, more powerful than, etc.) what; a.) Chemistry (the elements that make up our universe) *or* b.) the Laws of Physics (the processes/fundamental forces that act upon those elements)?
  • Are they equals?  If yes, in what way?  If not, why not?
  • Is one more “basic/fundamental” than the other?  If yes, which, and why?
  • Can there exist one without the other?  IOW, do they share a mutually inclusive or exclusive existence?
  • Is it a symbiotic relationship, necessary for one another's survival?
  • Am I asking crazy (meaningless) questions?

Talk about (debate) these two natural phenomena.  Brainstorm away, just for the heck of/conversation of it.
